Whisper vsSuperwhisper
Superwhisper charges $84.99/year. Whisper gives you the same offline, private transcription for $29/year, with no subscription and no auto-renewal.
Blazing fast — and 100% on your device
Whisper's engine is GPU-accelerated (Metal on Mac, Vulkan on Windows and Linux). On Apple Silicon it transcribes about an hour of audio in a minute, and short dictation is on screen the moment you stop talking — punctuation and capitalization included.
All of it runs locally, so your voice never leaves your machine — and it keeps working with the Wi-Fi off.
